archone: The idea of a satrap's palace giving eastern influence is very cool, but the penalty is negligible and subsumed by your base hellenic influence most of the time, making it irrelevant; again, the simple cultural influence system makes cultural buildings useless since you can quickly convert a province without permanent cultural buildings and never worry about it again once it reaches 100%. Since cultural influence doesn't affect other provinces, there's no reason to build a high level temple with 10+ cultural influence. Lastly, adding some of the unique factional feel to existing factions and making them more significant (for example, Egyptian buildings with Egyptian cultural influence) would also be appreciated.
CA_Thamis:We currently thinking about changing the way the culture mechanics work, so that a small Eastern penalty like that will always have some effect. That should make the game more interesting. I'll write more about it if we are putting any culture changes into a patch, as for now it's all just "thinking about it". As always, no promises. :-)
